The other mats have been easy to get. If you disable the forest only part of the quest, then you can get sent to traders that are in other biomes. Will I focus on Barter and better rewards? Only if I find a wrench AND the trader has steel to sell. By default, the game will send you to the closest trader in the forest (and maybe burnt forest) However, if the closest trader is in one of the other biomes, or is greater than 3km away, then youll get the no trader text. I pretty much treat the Trader as an RNG decision. If I'm lucky enough to find a wrench early on and the trader has steel I can buy to fix the wrench then it's happy times. If the trader has forged steel to sell, I usually prioritize doing the quests for the dukes. I've played about a dozen games so far up to day 7 and I'm maybe 50/50 on being able to build a bike before day 7 and without a bike I find the quests a waste of time that I'd rather spend on food & resources. 3) Ensure that you tick the box labelled: 'Dynamic Spawner'. Open the console, access the Debug menu with 'dm' and the Creative menu with 'cm'. ![]() If I don't find a wrench I usually have nothing to sell the 1st week. 2) The first thing you need to do, even with full admin control, is gain access to the trade area. The only things I find to sell (by that I mean, things I'm willing to sell instead of horde) are canned food, extra clothing and anything I can wrench. This is the case for the 2-3 traders we've found so far. They are also only issuing 1 type of quest (the buried supplies quest) that is fine for tier 1 but after tier 2 it starts having you dig IN buildings and structures. I play 90 min days and I'm finding the quests a little far off during the first 7 days for me to manage them and get enough food/resources so I've been skipping the trader. Traders were bugged in that they are open 24/7 (even during the first 7 day event). If a player had a choice of 1 quest to undertake, it would make which one they pick all the more meaningful.Just curious about how everyone is using the traders. This gives you some incentive to choose a quest that would yield more useful loot, and add additional functionality to perks (or perks that could be added later on). Putting perks into Daring Adventurer, for a hypothetical example, could give the player additional quests they could complete per day, or see the rewards you can get before setting out. Keep trader visits to bare minimum and try to find, build and craft everything on your own. Last time i did a trader run was to hopefully buy a beaker which i couldnt find anywhere after days of searching. Actual result: You are able to build and destroy inside the trader area. My play style does not involve a lot of trader visits, because of the exact reason you mentioned. 1) Delete trader prefab files from local client. C:\Users\metaphore\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\GeneratedWorlds. Common theory from many is that living close to the trader causes the issue. Close the game and open the newly created folder where this new custom world was saved: - on my system, the path to this new 'Mukakegu Mountains' folder would be. Veduis thread: FIX the Closed Trader Bug Quick Tips N Tricks with Vedui. my last world was named 'Mukakegu Mountains') 2. Granted, that's a personal preference/limitation, but it at least makes sense to me. Make a new RWG and remember how the game named it (ie. It just takes too long to hoof it 1.8 miles and back, especially since I try to complete them in the same day they're given. I almost never take a quest that's 1km or farther away, until i have reliable transportation. By default, the game will send you to the closest trader in the forest (and maybe burnt forest) However, if the closest trader is in one of the other biomes, or is greater than 3km away, then you'll get the 'no trader' text. Personally, when i hit the trader, I take the quests that are closest to me first. I agree that the lower tier quests should give things relatively close, while the higher ones send you farther away (and presumably, send you into more dangerous areas). ![]()
